Erin is Chief Legal Counsel for The Single Mother Advancement Project (THESMAP), she is responsible for overseeing the organization’s legal functions around the world. Erin is an experienced attorney and leader with a background in both risk and compliance. Prior to joining THESMAP, Erin served as Deputy General Counsel and Legal executive for several areas of his previous companies, including Office of the Corporate Secretary, Global Human Resources, Global Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Chief Financial Officer, and Corporate Strategy and Development. She received a Juris Doctor with honors from George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C., and his B.A. in Government with distinction from Florida State University.
Erin has received multiple awards and honors, including the John Marshall Award - the highest Department of Justice Award for an attorney, and the Department of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service, as well as the Superior Honor Award. She has extensive appellate and civil and criminal litigation experience, most notably, litigating complex securities and financial matters. Erin has served in several advisory roles, which includes the American Bar Association Standing Committee on Law, and numerous law schools. Erin also focuses on the organization’s intellectual property and licensing, which encompasses all aspects of patent law: prosecution, portfolio management, strategic counseling, licensing, compliance, litigation, and legislative and regulatory patent matters.
